What is Yoga Nidra? Yoga Nidra is a powerful yogic tool, allowing you to reach into the recesses of your mind, releasing deep inner tension and related belief systems. You are in a state of “conscious sleep”.   You may choose to explore Yoga Nidra for many reasons: deep relaxation, elimination of stress, resolving or neutralizing trauma, entering deep meditationYoga Nidra, in essence, is a practice of self inquiry derived from ancient yoga teachings.

The Sunday session is designed for the novice or experienced Yogi.  Anyone wanting to explore relaxation and/or those seeking to enhance an existing meditation practice are welcome!  You will be guided into restorative yoga poses with the support of bolsters and blankets.  At the end we move into a yoga nidra practice to awaken the body while you rest comfortably on the floor or you can choose to be seated.

Celebrate the Vernal Equinox

with sound.........

It is said that in our hectic topsy turvy world there is one fail safe method to calm the mind - Mantra!

Join me for a fun filled learning opportunity and let yourself be introduced to the power of sound.  Learn how the practice of japa  mantra  (repetition of mantra i.e. words imbued with power) can help calm the crazy drunken monkey mind.

Mantra is a Sanskrit word.  Man - denotes mind and Tra -denotes to cross over.  Mantra is that which helps us cross over. Often we use mālā beads (pictured above) to support a mantra practice.

In this interactive workshop we move from an experience of audible forms of japa to unvoiced japa.

  • We will review several different mantras, including the mantra of AUM (OHM, OM).
  • You will receive instruction on the proper use of mālā beads
  • Take home a handout to help you get started on your practice at home.
