Classes will be meeting on Tuesday night and most Friday's 7- 9:30 pm.  In addition to one weekend per month for 4 months.  Littleton Yoga Center believes the path of yoga is a unique and life changing journey. We have developed a comprehensive Advanced Training Program that takes aspiring students to new depths along their yoga journey. Our objective is to provide an educational experience that brings students to deeper levels of understanding of yoga and of themselves in a joyful, caring atmosphere. This is the first level of our program. It is designed for students that are ready to advance in their yoga practice and desire to develop a deeper understanding of yoga. A physically advanced asana practice is NOT required to enroll. However, as a minimum, students should have attended at least several yoga classes, have a basic understanding of yoga postures, and be capable of active movement. The most important characteristics for advancing in yoga are curiosity and a willingness to learn. Your fee includes: manuals and free yoga classes at Littleton Yoga Center for the duration of the training.

Classes will be meeting on Tuesday night 7-9:30pm, An occasional Friday night and one weekend per month. 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher Training. *Advanced Yoga Training Program is a pre-requiste to attend this program*. If you are interested in deepening your personal practice or have a desire to share the practice of yoga with others, teacher training is an opportunity to explore yoga as a transformational, healing and spiritual journey. You will learn the philosophy of yoga, the physical, mental and emotional benefits of asana, pranayama and meditation, how to build and sequence classes, and how to work individually with students to enable them to connect with their own bodies. You will explore various styles of yoga including Vinyasa (flowing movements linked with breath), Restorative, Anusara (Flowing with Grace) and Hot/Bikram Yoga.

Introduction to Sanskrit!!

Ready to learn the proper pronounciation of Sanskrit, the Language of the Gods!  Come and join us as we explore the nuances of pronounciation and practice with the Sanskrit phenomes.  You will learn the correct mouth position to form the phenomes.  Then, we continue to explore the Sanskrit alphabet through various practices and introduction to various chants.  You will be introduced to the Devanagari, the Sanskrit script, as we move toward mastery of pronounciation and begin reading Devanagari.  

 

Karin Bustamante, E-RYT 500, is an experienced registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance, She has completed over 1000 hours of Hatha Yoga training taught by Hansa Knox at the PranaYoga and Ayurveda Mandala in Denver, Colorado. She studies Sanskrit at Naropa University and she holds the designation of Integrative Restoration Institute Certified iRest Teacher, a specific approach of Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is a powerful healing path of self inquiry that assists in meeting, greeting and welcoming your whole SELF!  She brings her deep passion for Yoga to you in an accessible easy style.  She teaches Yoga to the general public as well as to Yoga Teachers in training.

Contemplative Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Program

 



Ten Month, 265 hour --Teacher Training Program
Next Program Starts February 16, 2011, Wednesday afternoons.  
First Weekend February 19,20 2011

 

The purpose of this Contemplative Yoga Teacher Training is to teach and introduce yoga asana, pranayama and meditation.  We wrap the information into the philosophy of yoga and include information to take yoga beyond the mat to a lifestyle of wellness and stillness.   We will be exploring many aspects of Yoga including aspects of Jnana, Bhakti, Karma, Raja and Hatha Yoga.  The goal of the program is to learn:

            ~ basic asana
            ~ pranayama    
            ~ meditation
            ~ basic anatomy and physiology
            ~ styles of teaching
            ~ marketing skills
            ~ introduction to the Yoga Philosophy
            ~ and introduce opportunities for spiritual attunement

You’ve tasted the fruit of Yoga Nidra.   You know Yoga Nidra is a powerful yogic tool, allowing you to reach into the recesses of your mind, releasing deep inner tension and related belief systems. You’ve experienced the state of “conscious sleep” and have felt deep relaxation, elimination of stress and have seen or felt  trauma neutralizing. 

 

Teach what you know! Deepen your own understanding of Yoga Nidra by exploring the ko?as and learn to deliver an integrated Yoga Nidra practice.  You will learn the philosophy of Yoga Nidra from a non-dual tantric perspective.  We will explore the dynamics of each kosa, language for each kosa and identify strategies to evoke the experience.

This training is taught over three months giving you ample time to integrate the information presented.  At each step, students are encourage to explore their voice and their own experience when leading a practice.  

This training is designed for teachers as an in depth exploration of all five ko?as.  You learn to deliver a Yoga Nidra practice for each kosa and then thread the ko?as together. Participants are expected to demonstrate a basic understanding of the kosas, construct and deliver several yoga nidra practices in a group setting.  You are highly encouraged to develop your personal practice, journal or otherwise deepen your understanding of Yoga Nidra.
